Website cookie policy
We would like to inform you that on http://www.compattalight.com/ (henceforth referred to as “Website”) we use cookies in order to facilitate and improve your navigation of the website and the quality of the service we offer. This document provides the user (henceforth “the interested party”) with detailed information on the use of cookies (and similar technology), how they are used by the Website and how this use can be managed.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small strings of text that are sent to a user’s terminal when sites are visited by a user. This text is sent to the terminal, which is usually the browser and are stored there before being re-transmitted to the same sites the next time the user visits them. While surfing a site, the user may also receive cookies on their terminal that are sent from different websites or web servers (so-called “third parties”) that may contain some elements (such as images, maps, sounds and specific links to other domains) in common with the website the user is consulting. Cookies are usually be found in a user’s browser in very large numbers and sometimes last for a very long time, and they can be used for a number of different purposes; I.T. authentication procedures, session monitoring, the storage of specific configurations for the user accessing the server and so on.
2. Type of cookies used
Below is a list of the type of cookies used by this Website:
Technical cookies
This type of cookie enables certain sections of the Website to operate correctly. These are divided into two categories; long-lasting ones and those that function just for that particular session:
- persistent: once the browser is closed, they are not destroyed, but remain until they reach a pre-set expiry date;
- session: these are destroyed every time the browser is closed.
Both types of cookies are sent by us and are essential in order to view the Website correctly, and they will continue to be sent and used, with regard to the technical services we offer, unless the User modifies the settings in their own browser (thereby altering the way the pages of the Website are viewed).
Analytical cookies
This type of cookie is used to collect information on the way in which the Website is used. We reserve the right to use this information to elaborate anonymous statistical analysis aimed at improving the use of the Website. This type of cookie collects data on user activity and on how they have arrived at the Website. Analytical cookies are sent from the Website itself or fromthird-party domains. They can also be called technical cookies when they are used directly by the site operator to gather information in an aggregated and anonymous way. A web traffic analysis service is provided by Google Inc. (henceforth “Google”). These are third-party cookies which are collected and managed in order to monitor and improve the performance of the host website (performance cookies). More specifically, Google Analytics uses “cookies” from this site to collect and analyse information on how a website is used. This information is collected by Google Analytics and then processed in order to prepare reports for operators regarding the activities of the websites themselves. For more information, please refer to the link below: http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/. The user can choose to disable this activity by Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google in their browser. To disable the activity of Google Analytics, please refer to the link below: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
This Website does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) the Google analysis tool to monitor or collect personal identification information. In any case, should it be used in the future, we will ensure that we adopt the anonymization function of the user’s IP in Analytics, using the “Mask IP address” (in this way Google will not associate the IP address with any other data held, nor will it attempt to connect an IP address with the identity of a user).
Cookies last until the end of the browsing session and are designed to keep the session open for the user.
Third party cookies
Our Website also uses third-party cookies: - to carry out statistical evaluation of the use of the Website via Google Analytics. This is a web traffic analysis service provided by Google (http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/) which helps us to understand how visitors interact with the content of the Website. Google Analytics uses a set of cookies to gather information and generate statistics on how the Website is used, without using any of the personal identification details of individual visitors:
- to use Google Adwords, because the monitoring function of the AdWords conversions also uses cookies;
- to interact with social networks (social plug-ins). The presence of these plug-ins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all of the sites managed by third-parties.
Management of the data collected by “third-parties” is governed by the relevant disclosure statement which you are advised to read. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, the web addresses for the various disclosure statements on how to manage cookies can be found below. These plug-ins do not set cookies, but if one is already present on the visitor’s computer they are able to read it and use it according to its settings. The collection and use of this information by third parties is governed by the respective privacy policies that you are also invited to read.We would also like to remind you that if you click on these links, these websites may insert cookies once you connect to their services. Social network cookies are not necessary for website navigation and, as established by the Italian Data Protection Authority, if they can be considered profiling then consent must be given for the installation of these cookies on the user’s device. In our particular case, however, these are simple links to third-party sites that do not install profiling cookies. More specifically, this Website only uses a plug-in for Facebook YouTube, Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin. The cookies of these third-parties are not controlled by the Data Controller, and therefore for further information on how the third-party uses cookies, it is advisable to visit the relevant website below, where it is also possible to find the specific information and the methods used by each third-party for managing cookies.
